Aromas of Pecan Nut, Sweet Orange and Star Anise
Our Orang Utan Coffee Project combines sustainable management, resource efficiency, nature conservation and social responsibility. With this, we attempt to counteract the rapid loss of tropical rainforest in Indonesia and save the last remaining 14,000 wild Sumatran Orangutans from going extinct.
Our Orang Utan coffee is sourced from small family run farms in the Gayo highlands of Indonesia. The tropical rainforest provides a special climate in which the unique Sumatra-Arabica coffee can thrive wonderfully. Here, the farmers cultivate their coffee gardens ecologically and are committed to protecting the rainforest, including its animals and plants.
For their effort in protecting the Sumatran Orangutans and their habitat, the families receive a premium of € 1.00 for every kilogram of raw coffee we buy from them - € 0.50 is provided by Public Coffee Roasters and a further € 0.50 is given to the farmers by the Sumatra Orangutans Protection Program.
With the enjoyment of this excellent Orang Utan Coffee, you enhance the living conditions of the Indonesian coffee farmers and aid in the attempt to save the Sumatran Orangutans from going extinct.
