Our Elida microlot-coffee is produced on a farm in the Alto Quiel region of Panama - The Elida Estate Farm. It is the farm with the highest elevation in Panama and is run by the Lamastus family, which we personally know and directly source our coffee from. This small plantation is located in the middle of the Volcan Baru National Park, a beautiful untouched rainforest. Here the coffee is grown in a moderate climate, on nutrient-rich and volcanic soil. 

The climate in the region of Alto Quiel contributes to an extended ripening period; it takes about 2 to 3 years, until the coffee plants carry yield for the first time. The coffee of the Elida Estate is from the highest quality and shaped by the best craftsmanship in processing.

The Catuai variety, cultivated at the Estate, is a natural processed coffee. After the harvest, the cherries are sun dried for ten days, resulting in a sweet cup with elegant fruit notes and a long finish. The coffee is big and powerful, yet very clean.

In 2013 and 2016 the Elida Natural was awarded ‘best Non-Geisha coffee’ by the Specialty Coffee Association of Panama and in 2018 the Lamastus family received the Cup of Panama. In addition, our Elida microlot-coffee won the Brewers Cup of Austria due to its unique roast profile. Chapeau!
